Music to feed your soul

Dear readers,

My name is Joseph Khoury, I’m a student in 2nd D. I’m the writer and the composer of the song “This Race Just Begun”. Writing hit songs is my way to express myself, behind each rap there is a story to tell, a message to convey, or an idea that runs through my mind.

I got inspired while dealing with the problematic:  “How can home schooling and the lockdown, after the rise and spread of COVID-19, affect people’s lifestyles and moods?” Besides that, working on a cartoon on parents coping with home schooling, by the Australian cartoonist, Mark Knight, made me think about what we’ve been living since March 2020.

The goal of my song is to encourage my fellow classmates and my friends in different grades to be perseverant in such a hard and challenging period. I honestly believe that together, we can make things better.

l’m eager to perform this song on my school stage this year.

Thank you for your encouragements!

Joseph Khouri
