On 24 November 2025, on the occasion of the 54ᵉ National Day of the United Arab Emirates, the Lycée Français Louis Massignon celebrated Eid Al Etihad, perpetuating a tradition dear to the school community and reaffirming its attachment to its host country.
This wonderful moment of sharing brought together students, staff and Emirati families in a spirit of respect, gratitude and conviviality. Through this celebration, the entire educational community paid tribute to the history, culture and heritage of the United Arab Emirates.
The morning was dedicated to the theme of the five senses, offering our primary school pupils an immersion into the heart of Emirati heritage. Their eyes were drawn to the colours of the national flag and the richness of the traditional dress. The scents of the oud accompanied the pupils throughout their discovery. Their sense of touch was stimulated by encounters with a falcon and a dromedary, as well as by workshops in traditional weaving and the art of henna. Traditional songs and dances punctuated the morning, allowing the students to discover Emirati culture through sound and movement. Finally, the tasting of luqaimat was an opportunity to discover the emblematic flavours of local gastronomy.
The official ceremony, organised in the presence of many Emirati families, showcased the talents of the pupils through traditional dances, recitations of the Koran, a play recounting the history of the country and songs. The national anthem, sung by the entire assembly, brought the day to a close in a moment of sharing and unity.
Through this celebration of Eid Al Etihad, the Lycée Français Louis Massignon expresses its respect and gratitude towards its host country, its history and its culture.
