For the fifth year running, pupils at the LLM are taking part in the Al Nouf mangrove restoration programme, supervised by Camilia Hasnaoui, a biology teacher.
On the programme this year for pupils in classes 3A and 3B: planting, harvesting seeds and learning about the technologies used to restore this ecosystem, including a demonstration of a 7th-generation drone capable of planting in hard-to-reach areas.
Well done to our pupils, who collected no fewer than 5,174 seeds! They also helped to protect this fragile ecosystem by collecting over 13 kg of plastic waste.
A big thank you to ADNOC and Distant Imagery for this incredible experience, which gives our pupils a hands-on insight into the challenges involved in protecting biodiversity and our ecosystems.
Thanks also to Nicolas Serrano, the biology teacher, for his support during this lovely day.
