World Oceans Day: Year 6F pupils committed to protecting the oceans

To mark World Oceans Day, celebrated on 8 June, the Lycée Louis Massignon highlighted its pupils’ commitment to protecting the oceans and the environment.
Initiated by Faneva Razafindrainibe, a library and information teacher, and Ms Emna Lahiani, a life and earth sciences teacher, this project has highlighted the work of the pupils in Class 6F on the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 14 «Life below water» and SDG 13 «Climate action». This initiative fully reflects the commitment of the Lycée Louis Massignon as a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network.
The pupils had the opportunity to try out the treasure hunts designed to raise awareness of ocean conservation: the pearls of Abu Dhabi, the role of AI in protecting the marine ecosystem, Abu Dhabi’s marine life, mangroves, and the Big Green Legacy.
An exhibition provided an opportunity to explore various themes relating to local natural heritage and marine biodiversity: the history of pearls, the mangroves of Abu Dhabi, marine animals and the Big Green Legacy project.
In the school library, a themed display featured a selection of books on marine animals, the oceans, pirates and the Titanic.
Congratulations to our pupils on their commitment and creativity in working towards a more sustainable future!
