LLM students in action for the Al Nouf mangrove, a natural heritage site in the Emirates

During the week of 6 October 2025, our eco-delegates and several classes from 3e and Seconde took part in a field trip as part of the Mangrove Restoration project, accompanied by Mrs Camilia Hasnaoui, SVT teacher and the school's Sustainable Development Education Advisor.

In the field, the pupils discovered the richness of the Al Nouf mangrove, an emblematic ecosystem in the Emirates, essential in the fight against global warming. The programme included observing grey mangroves, understanding their role as a CO₂ sink and raising awareness of the need to preserve biodiversity and natural heritage.

The project, which has been running since 2023 in partnership with Distant Imagery, ADNOC and Technimont, involves pupils in practical activities such as collecting and processing seeds, planting (on the ground and by drone) and creating awareness-raising materials.

Throughout the year, Ms Hasnaoui assists the group of Ecodelegates in their efforts to raise awareness of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, with the aim of turning the pupils of the Lycée Louis Massignon into committed and supportive citizens.

A big thank you to our students for their commitment and their voluntary work, and to Mrs Hasnaoui for her support in this wonderful ecological adventure!
