As part of their preparations for the Model United Nations (MUN) conference on the environment to be held on 20 June, four Year 10 students from the Lycée Louis Masignon took part in a wide-ranging discussion on ecological issues and protecting the planet. The event, entitled "Tolerant Cities; Sustainable Cities", took place on Monday 29 April at the Muhammad Bin Zayed University for the Humanities.

Catherine Rordigues Tsumoto, Perla Saliba, Shana-Alia Belgacem and Danny Jabour, accompanied by their teacher Mr Edwan, had the opportunity to listen to and exchange views with lecturer Dr Heba Aboukhousa and other students from participating schools.
Discussions at the meeting focused on the environment and the ecological challenges facing our planet. Crucial issues such as responsibility and the role that everyone can play in helping to protect the environment were also addressed.
This experiment is part of the Leadership and Diplomacy organised by ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge), aimed at preparing students for the Model Unites Nations conference on the environment. At this event, which will take place on 20 June, the students will represent the delegations of China and Saudi Arabia.
By taking part in exchanges such as these, our students not only gain valuable knowledge of global environmental issues, but also develop the leadership, diplomacy and negotiation skills that are essential for their future participation in the MUN conference.
