The BIA diploma provides our students with an in-depth understanding of the principles of flight, knowledge of air navigation and an insight into the aeronautical professions.
They showed a keen interest in this diploma, which opens up new prospects in the aeronautical sector.
A big thank you to Lieutenant Colonel Yann Kerneis and Warrant Officer Ken Mader for their passion and commitment, which inspired our young people!

It provides students with an in-depth understanding of the principles of flight, air navigation and careers related to aeronautics.
This course 40 hours is given under the responsibility of a holder of the Certificat d'Aptitude à l'Enseignement Aéronautique.
The BIA with the Armée de l'Air is not limited to classroom learning. It also includes introductory flights and visits to air bases.
It offers students total immersion in the world of military aviation. This practical experience enables them to reinforce their understanding of theoretical concepts and broaden their horizons.
Much more than just a diploma, the BIA opens doors to a variety of aviation-related careers, such as :
- Line driver
- Professional pilot
- Military pilot
- Civilian or military personnel on board
- Simulator monitor
- Aeronautical engineer
- Technician
- Mechanic
- Air traffic controller
- Meteorologist
- Aviation physician
- Civil Aviation Directorate General official
The exam is held every year in May.
It takes the form of MCQs in five compulsory subjects: "meteorology & aerology", "aerodynamics, aerostatics & principles of flight", "study of aircraft and spacecraft", "navigation, regulations, flight safety", "history & culture of aeronautics and space" and an optional English test.
This course is open to everyone, regardless of age, although the level of knowledge required is more suited to secondary school pupils.
