Ms Fittipaldi's Terminale C class, Ms Lavoye's HGGSP speciality students, Ms Azzam's 4e A class and Ms Nadi Tahiri's 4A SIB class had the opportunity to visit the COSCO maritime terminal at Kizad-Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi's new port built on an artificial island.
This field trip gave the students the opportunity to observe first-hand the effects and workings of globalisation and the maritimeisation of the economy. Welcomed in the control room, where the unloading cranes are activated, the students then took a guided bus tour of the port facilities. They were impressed by the immensity of the logistics, the modernity of the technologies and the scale of the maritime traffic.
