On Wednesday 14 May 2025, Mrs Marie Josée Lupi Coulon's CE1A class had a wonderful adventure when they visited the Zayed Port fish market on the Abu Dhabi Corniche. It was an outing full of new culinary experiences, which helped our pupils to learn more about Emirati culture and to understand why it is essential to preserve its heritage..
Accompanied by an Emirati guide, the students learnt four traditional fishing techniques. They wandered enthusiastically around the market stalls and touched a wide variety of fish and seafood: barracudas, hammurs, parrot fish, crabs, squid, octopus...
The morning continued with a seafood meal in a local restaurant, giving them an authentic experience of Emirati gastronomy. It was a tasty and convivial experience, which allowed our students to fully immerse themselves in the culinary traditions of our host country.
