On Monday 25 November, the Lycée Louis Massignon celebrated the bank holidays of the United Arab Emirates, 'Eid Al Etihad', with joy and pride. The school was transformed into a place for cultural discovery and sharing. During the morning, primary school pupils were immersed in Emirati culture, with encounters with a majestic falcon and a camel emblematic of the desert. The pupils took part in traditional weaving, henna and dance workshops, and enjoyed delicious lugaimates, traditional Emirati pastries. The morning was crowned by the welcome of a number of Emirati families at a beautiful ceremony. The students presented a rich and moving artistic programme, including recitations from the Koran, a historical play, traditional songs and dances. This moment of Franco-Emiri sharing reached its climax with the national anthem sung by all the participants, symbolising the deep respect and gratitude towards the United Arab Emirates, the host country of our school community. This moment of respect, openness and mutual learning highlighted the multicultural nature of the Lycée Louis Massignon.
Long live Eid Al Etihad at the Lycée Louis Massignon!
